project Casa Bridge-ette
collaboration with L'Atelier Arman Safavi
Casa Bridge-ette is a private residence set within one of Tehran’s remaining Persian gardens. The project explores the relationship between landscape, interior depth, and domestic ritual through sectional displacement and controlled enclosure.
Arya’s contribution focuses on the subterranean living room and lounge, conceived not as a room but as an interior landscape formed through excavation, layering, and embedded architectural elements.
the subterranean space operates as both lounge and internal gallery, housing sculptures, paintings, and objects. it draws on two intertwined spatial ideas: Andaruni, the protected interiority of Persian domestic architecture, and the Crypt, understood as a space of withdrawal, depth, and latent intimacy. These concepts are not referenced symbolically but operationalised through section, ground displacement, and material continuity.
Seating, shelving, serving surfaces, and the fireplace are embedded within the terrain itself, forming continuous architectural strata rather than discrete objects. The space maintains a porous relationship with adjacent water elements, allowing reflection, light modulation, and atmosphere to shape spatial perception.
L'as Based in New York City is a boutique multidisciplinary practice specializing in interiors, furniture, and architectural design. The studio prioritizes function, materiality, and aesthetic clarity, producing a curated body of timeless products and collectible furniture for discerning private clients and industry professionals. Each project is guided by measured principles and genuine collaboration rather than formulaic methods or short-lived trends. Drawing on expertise across fine art, photography, interior design, and architecture, the practice conceives and delivers bespoke environments for residential and commercial contexts. Its work spans conceptual development through spatial realization, contributing to a broader discourse on thoughtful, intelligent, and enduring design.
